Suzie Bartel

Suzie is the co-founder of the Ryan Bartel Foundation and mother of Ryan, her oldest son who died by suicide at the age of 17 in 2014.

The Foundation's mission is to prevent youth suicide through educational, upstream programs and activities that foster resilience and help youth cope with the stress of daily lives. In a short space of time, what started as a peer-led support group for teens at Ryan's high school, has now become a non-profit whose teen and parent programs touch all corners of the Loudoun community.

Today Suzie juggles her professional life as a marketing executive with her role as the Foundation's Board Chair and her passion for advocating for mental health and youth suicide prevention through the empowerment of youth.
