Executive Therapy

Executive Therapy Goes Beyond Business Coaching.

An Executive Therapist integrates business knowledge and expertise with psychological knowledge and expertise to deliver comprehensive support to executives navigating business challenges and personal issues. Trained in psychology and human relationships, the executive therapist is skilled to identify and support personal psychological processes including mental health concerns and conditions.

What is Executive Therapy?

Executive Therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help people in leadership and executive positions identify and address the unique challenges that impact their personal and professional lives. Executive Therapy helps executives
and leaders:

  • Identify personal issues and promote self-awareness, opening a doorway to self-discovery, healing, well-being and growth.

  • Understand and learn how to set healthy boundaries to aid in managing complex relationships, delegate work responsibilities and foster a healthy work-life balance.

  • Examine the demands and pressures they face and learn skills to effectively manage stress and enhance overall well-being.

  • Maximize effective communication skills to promote clear understanding and manage difficult relationships.

  • Fortify the qualities that contribute to leadership excellence.

The Executive Therapist is a highly trained, credentialed, educated, and experienced psychology professional who also understands the dynamic environment, unique challenges and interconnectedness of the professional and personal lives of executives. Executive therapy can focus on a number of areas and issues, such as communication, collaboration, confidence, conflict resolution, and how to navigate fast-paced, high stress environments. Executive Therapy can lead to increased happiness and satisfaction, which impacts performance and success.

Exploring Executive Therapy

Process and Approach

The counseling relationship is a partnership. As your counselor, I am committed to the counseling process, just as the client you agree to do your best to make your sessions meaningful and successful. It is essential that the counseling relationship is a “good fit”,  where the client experiences a real and positive connection with the counselor that fosters an internal sense of trust. Conversely, the counselor must be confident she can help the executive with their needs, concerns and situations.

To help insure the right fit, an initial 75-minute, in-person session is conducted. A date and time are mutually agreed upon, initial counseling forms are sent to the client, completed and then emailed back to the counselor two or three days prior to the scheduled session. The fee for the session is $395 and paid in advance via check or PayPal.

At the end of the initial session, the counselor shares with the client whether or not they can be of help and support to the client. The client can decide either at the end of the session or a few days later if it feels like the right fit for them.
No commitment has to be made at the initial session.

If it is a “go” for both, the next step is to determine the counseling package.

Note: Counseling can be in person or via Zoom. If the location is within 20 miles, preference is given to in person, if possible. This is because research shows in-person counseling has more positive outcomes. However, it is noted this is not always possible given the time and travel demands of executives.
