Support Workplace Resiliency: Trauma-Informed Policies and Practices
Trauma affects every aspect of our lives and every level of an organization. A trauma-informed organization mitigates the adverse effects and protects its members.
Trauma is generally defined as an emotional injury that leaves a lasting effect on our well-being and performance. Trauma is complicated; everyone experiences their trauma differently. However, we naturally look to the organizations we’re a part of and our colleagues for support. A trauma-informed workplace is one that understands how trauma affects individuals, groups, and communities. Trauma-informed policies and practices mitigate those negative effects for a safe, inclusive, and resilient workplace. There will always be another crisis on the horizon. However, a trauma-informed organization will weather the storm and rise above the challenge.
